WINGS OF LOVEThis image was shot in the Chain O Lakes region in northwest Illinois. This area is excellent for year round bird watching, but all kinds of migratory birds stop here between March and June. I was particularly interested in shooting egrets, and I figured these birds would make great subject matter for a new telephoto lens I wanted to test out. As the sun began to set, the egrets all returned to the same tree to settle in, hundreds of them squawking

Admirers of Santa Barbara and the Californian coast will undoubtedly cherish this beautiful image in their homes

I had a good feeling about capturing a perfect shot as I hiked down to the tree stump in the foreground

keep in mind that the conditions can change quickly

I love the evening sight of the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium

which makes this part of the so dramatic

and the Culver City lights were starting to flicker
