Cooper Mountain Vineyards Gamay Noir 2014Cooper Mountains unique soils are the result of a cataclysmic volcanic event in Eastern Oregon some 50 million years ago. These soils, along with climactic conditions influenced by our proximity to both the Columbia Gorge and the Chehalem Mountains, help them to produce wines with a specific sense of place. Cooper Mountain Vineyards got its start in 1978 when Dr. Robert Gross and his wife, Corrine, planted the first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines.
