Water etching ceramics is the process of painting a resist pattern onto a leather hard or bone dry piece of pottery, allowing the resist to dry, and then wiping clay away with a damp sponge. As the surface is wiped, a raised pattern forms under the resist. This is a great technique to add depth and visual interest to a surface while keeping a very clean and simple finish. Cone 6

Measure approximately 3 3/8” tall X 4 1/2” wide (without handle 3 1/2") and holds approximately 12 fluid ounces

I painted with Mother of Pearl luster and fired a third time to 1159 to create metallic shiny iridescent

It's been bisque fired and fired at cone 6

I applied 22 ct gold lustre on a glazed part and fired a third time to 1300F to create a bright shiny gold highlight

I imprinted with a doily to make a patterns on the back
