210cm Blå-Skia Wood Nordic Racing Skis - Late 70s - COMPLETELY UNUSED!!!Beautiful, completely unused, pair of late 1970s wood racing ("langrenn") skis from Bl Skia. These were the end of the road for wood racing skis from our friends in Nittedal. Very light all hickory base (no lignostone edges). Picked up recently on a trip to Norway. Background on the brand Bl Skia, in Norwegian, literally means "the blue ski". Bl Skia was an early pioneer in wood racing skis; its founder, Ivar Halvorsen worked early in his career under

snapping during a race to the finish line in a tussle with Soviet Alexsandr Zavyalov

Skifabrikk has cleaned and prepped the skis so they are ready for display

and has been cleaned and preserved by the heroes at Skifabrikk

there is a small piece of hickory missing from the lower edge of one of the skis

and helpfully in Swedish for everyone else

They don't make skates the way they used to

save a scrub down with some Murphy's and a base coat of pine tar from the Big Wax Company (see above)
